How to evaluate a maritime ATS with a real workflow
Use a repeatable demonstration and an evidence checklist to compare maritime recruitment software, implementation scope and commercial terms.
Start with one vacancy and three candidate records
Choose a role your team recruits frequently. Prepare three anonymized candidate records: one complete, one with missing documents and one with inconsistent imported data. Use exactly the same scenario with every supplier. This makes differences in everyday usability easier to assess than a feature list.
Record which actions the recruiter can complete, where a manual step remains and which capabilities require configuration or an additional module.
Use this evaluation checklist
| Area | Ask the supplier to demonstrate | Evidence to keep |
|---|---|---|
| Data import | Import the sample, map fields and review duplicates. | Field mapping and a list of exceptions. |
| Search | Find a candidate by role, availability and relevant experience. | The search criteria and why each result matches. |
| Documents | Apply a client checklist and review an expiry. | Required types, dates and the original file. |
| Collaboration | Assign the record and hand over the follow-up. | Owner, history and next action. |
| Access | Repeat the demonstration as a recruiter and an administrator. | A confirmed permission matrix. |
| Export | Export the shortlist and inspect the file. | Columns, encoding and the scope of the export. |
| Commercial terms | Explain users, modules, setup and support. | A written proposal with exclusions. |
Score evidence, not promises
For each requirement, use “demonstrated”, “requires setup”, “not included” or “not yet verified”. Weight the requirements according to your own operation before scoring suppliers. A polished demo of a feature your team will never use should not outweigh a missing import field.
Do not publish unsupported competitor rankings or assume pricing from an old comparison is current. Keep the demonstration date and source of each claim.
Check the implementation handover
- Who supplies and cleans the source data?
- Who validates the pilot import and signs off the mapping?
- What configuration is included in the quoted price?
- What happens to attachments, history and duplicates?
- How do you retrieve your data when the relationship ends?
Where Bridge95 fits
Bridge95 is a candidate for teams evaluating connected maritime recruitment, document and client-request workflows. Use the same checklist to review it. Ask for a demonstration of your required configuration and a written proposal rather than assuming every deployment has identical features.
